HEMORRHOIDS
Hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels in the anus (lower end of the rectum). Hemorrhoids can cause pain and bleeding, especially with the passage of bowel movements. External Hemorrhoids occur on the outside of the anal canal and can often be felt by the patient. Internal Hemorrhoids are located just inside the anal canal and are often cannot be seen or palpated by the patient. Most hemorrhoids resolve without treatment over time, but hemorrhoids that persist, bleed, cause severe pain or complicate pregnancy and delivery should be discussed with your doctor. All cases of persistent rectal bleeding should be discussed with your doctor.
