CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE
This term usually refers to hardening of the arteries that supply blood to the heart. The “hardening” is usually caused by deposits of fatty materials, including Cholesterol along the walls of the arteries. This can interfere with the supply of oxygenated blood to the heart muscles and can result in chest pain, irregular heartbeats or a heart attack (infarction of the muscle)
